The words "There is no nation without language" have a profound meaning. This truth cannot be argued with. It is known that Alisher Navoi is rightfully considered the founder of the Uzbek language and the forefather of Uzbek classical literature, who left a rich literary heritage to his descendants. He was an outstanding representative of Uzbek literature, who revealed to the reader the colorful, unusually figurative world of his people. The activities and creativity of this great poet and statesman are a unique example of service to the people and the country. His works have been translated into different languages of the world and over the next half century have been repeatedly published in many countries of the world. Therefore, we can proudly say that the creative heritage of Alisher Navoi is the spiritual heritage of not only the Uzbek people, but also all of humanity.
Affirming the most progressive ideas of the time, he advanced to the ranks of outstanding minds of the era and brought Uzbek literature to the world arena. Therefore, the literary heritage of the brilliant Alisher Navoi has become the property of all progressive humanity today.
Navoi wrote poems, verses, prose works, scientific treatises, comprehensively revealing the spiritual life of Central Asia in the 15th century. He attached great importance to the fact that a person possesses reason and said that this is a great gift given from above, and no diamonds and rubies can compare with reason. In his poems, he praised such qualities as modesty, kindness, love for the Motherland, for people. All these values are values all over the world.
One of the best lyrical works of Alisher Navoi is "Treasury of Thoughts". It includes four cycles - "Miracles of Childhood", "Rarities of Youth", "Wonders of Middle Age" and "The Last Advice of Old Age", containing about 2500 ghazals. The pinnacle of his creativity and most significant literary work is "Khamsa" ("Quintet"), which consists of five poems: "Confusion of the Righteous", "Farhad and Shirin", "Leyli and Majnun", "Seven Planets", "Wall of Iskander". This is truly an artistic encyclopedia with a deep philosophical basis, raising many of the most important questions of that time: about state power, about morals, education, about high ideals of love and friendship, about science, etc. Navoi highly valued human reason and science. "Knowledge and wisdom are the adornment of man," he said. His poetic and prose works widely cover issues of education and training. Navoi's pedagogical views are deeply humanistic. He paid great attention to the formation and upbringing of a child, whom he considered a luminary in the house, bringing joy and happiness to the family. "A child," said Navoi, "should be given the right upbringing from an early age, in accordance with his age, and the study of sciences should begin as early as possible. Mastering sciences and crafts should be useful to the people, for he who has received knowledge and was unable to apply it is like a peasant who plowed a field but did not sow it." And as a continuation of these thoughts - love for his native language, which in the poet had no limits. Navoi processed and brought the old Uzbek literary language to classical perfection, using it not only in verses and poems, but also in scientific treatises.
"Words can prevent death,
Until the words have matured, do not rush to say them:
Words can revive the dead," - wrote the great sage.
It should be especially noted that the name of Alisher Navoi is a symbol of the progress of his era for the peoples of the whole world. His name is next to such names of classics of world literature as Homer and Dante, Rudaki and Firdausi, Nizami and Rustaveli, Saadi and Jami, Shakespeare and Pushkin. More than five centuries have passed since Navoi lived. The significance of the poet's work has never diminished. Each generation finds something for itself in it. Because the lines of the great son of the Uzbek people Alisher Navoi praise the love of life, the dignity of a creative person, friendship between people, freedom and peace:
Understand, people of the whole earth:
Enmity is a bad thing,
Live in friendship with each other -
There is no better lot.
This prophetic appeal is very relevant today and sounds like the most important parting words to descendants.
In conclusion, I would like to say that the bright image of the outstanding humanist, poet, educator, patriot and fighter for justice Alisher Navoi will live forever in the memory of not only the Uzbek people, but also all of humanity.
