IN SHORT LINES: About 20 presidents and heads of state will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Samarkand in September. The creative teams of the Samarkand regional state theaters are also preparing in order to meet the high-ranking guests of the prestigious event and acquaint them with the unique masterpieces of the Uzbek national culture and art. On the eve of Eid al-Fitr, First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhodir Akhmedov visited Samarkand and got acquainted with the level of preparation in theaters. After carefully watching the performances prepared by the creative teams, he expressed his views and suggestions on what to pay special attention to, and the specifics of the interpretation and approach in presenting the period in which the great figures lived.
